Pop-up Blanket Store opens in Duncan

Pop-up Blanket Store opens in Duncan

A new blanket store has opened in Duncan just in time for Christmas and winter weather.  Pacific Blanket and Gift Co. opened at the beginning of December at #10, 180 Central Road, in the Village Green Mall.  Owner Mo the Blanket Guy said the location is a pop-up store he plans to operate for about two months, but if the store is busy, he’ll stay longer.

Pacific Blanket and Gift Co. carries beautiful and artistic queen-size blankets in more than 60 designs that are super soft and machine washable.  The store also sells hoodies, t-shirts, flags, and hats, and more products are coming in soon.  Rakrouki, who is originally from Edmonton, said he began selling blankets from the back of a pick-up truck with his father in cities across Canada when he was a kid.

He said he first visited Duncan four years ago and he was well received here and sold lots of blankets from his truck, so he’s been back a couple of times since.  “I thought it would be a good idea to set up a retail store here this year and see how it goes,” Rakrouki said.  “Even if people just want to stop in, browse, or say hello, we would love to see you and meet everyone in person. Follow our Facebook, instagram, TikTok accounts for regular updates.”
